CESSTIG Leadership

The purpose of CESSTIG is to provide members of the Association and healthcare facilities with educational opportunities, professional development, and certification.

Overview

CESSTIG is governed by an elected board of directors composed of the President, President-Elect, Secretary/Treasurer, Immediate Past President, and Executive Director, as an ex-officio member, as well as six (6) elected Directors.
The board is responsible for positioning the association to best serve CESSTIG members as well as to maintaining the focus and vision to fulfil its purpose.The board establishes policy, directs Association activities, oversees finances, and chapters.

Mission

The mission of CESSTIG is to promote patient safety worldwide by raising the level of expertise and recognition for those in the Sterile Processing profession. CESSTIG accomplishes this: By providing educational, professional development, certification, communication, and representation opportunities for Sterile Processing professionals; Through collaboration efforts with allied partners, members, and associates; and Through advocacy initiatives for public policy changes.

Vission

Through international collaboration and organizational excellence, CESSTIG will be the leading association for education and certification for the Sterile Processing profession, thereby improving patient safety and meeting the needs of the healthcare environment.

Values

Communication: To share association and profession-related information in an open and timely manner with members, allied partners, associates, and the public. Education: To advance knowledge and achieve excellence at all levels of the Sterile Processing and associated professions. Professionalism: To deliver professional performance and quality through integrity, accountability, trust, ethics, and collaboration. Leadership: To act as the leading Sterile Processing organization by: providing educational opportunities; creating an environment to promote patient safety; and mentoring and developing new leaders.
Advocacy: To promote the Sterile Processing profession on international, national, state, and local levels and to support issues that promote the profession and patient safety. Excellence: To strive for excellence within the Sterile Processing profession by promoting quality performance and education.

Bylaws

Bylaws are a set of rules that govern a non-profit group and essentially serve as the Association’s constitution.
Bylaws provide each association member with a written set of rules that can only be amended by vote of the membership; Bylaws establish the major structural units of an organization;
They generally provide for meetings, elections of a Board of Directors and officers, filling vacancies, notices, types and duties of officers, committees, assessments and other routine conduct; and Bylaws are, in effect a contract among members, and must be formally adopted and/or amended.

This commitment to advancing Sterile Processing knowledge, skill sets and professionalism is why over 34,000 members and certificants rely on CESSTIG to keep them sharp, focused and abreast of the very latest standards, best practices and technological advancements impacting the SP profession.
